Job Summary

Sunrise Landscape is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Irrigation Manager to support the efficient operation and management of irrigation systems within our Maintenance Department . This role involves assisting in the oversight of routine irrigation service, managing field crews focused on maintenance, ensuring quality standards for existing systems, and contributing to overall client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of irrigation systems, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence in maintaining healthy landscapes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Irrigation Manager in planning, scheduling, and executing daily irrigation maintenance operations , including routine checks, repairs, and seasonal adjustments.
  • Supervise and train irrigation crews within the maintenance department, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and efficient completion of service requests.
  • Conduct on-site inspections of existing irrigation systems to assess performance, diagnose issues, and ensure proper water management for optimal landscape health.
  • Troubleshoot complex irrigation problems (e.g., electrical issues, mainline breaks, controller malfunctions, zoning problems) and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Help manage inventory of irrigation parts and supplies used for maintenance and repairs, ensuring availability and cost efficiency.
  • Read and interpret irrigation blueprints and design plans to understand existing system layouts and assist with modifications or expansions within maintained properties.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and labor hours for all maintenance irrigation services.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding irrigation system status, recommendations for improvements, and service updates related to their maintained properties.
  • Collaborate closely with other maintenance department managers and foremen to ensure seamless coordination and support overall landscape health.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in irrigation system maintenance and repair.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an irrigation or landscape team.
  • Strong technical knowledge of conventional and two-wire irrigation systems, various controllers, valves, and heads.
  • Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and schematics.
  • Proficiency in operating relevant irrigation equipment and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
