• Location: Washington, DC 20007 – Prime Georgetown location with access to museums, dining, and entertainment\n
• Unit: Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Comprehensive Stroke Center)\n
• Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital\n
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Job\n
• Contract Length: 13 weeks\n
• Start Date: November 3, 2025\n
• Shift: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00) per week\n
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1650 - $1770\n
• Patient Ratio: 1:2\n
• Charting System: Cerner\n
• Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Active DC Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending accepted; must be in hand before start; proof of application required)\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (telemetry, ventilators, peripheral IV start required; ICP experience preferred)\n
• At least 1 prior travel nurse assignment required\n
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)\n
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) system\n
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed\n
• Two supervisor references required\n
• Weekend shifts required as part of rotation\n
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)\n

\n\nNeuro ICU RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological conditions (brain tumors, strokes, seizures, neuromuscular disorders)\n
• Monitor and manage ventilators, intracranial pressure (ICP), EVDs, lumbar drains, and advanced neurocritical care equipment\n
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips\n
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs), dysrhythmias, and perform phlebotomy and IV starts\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, and social services\n
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions\n
• Float to other critical care units as required\n
• Participate in orientation and complete required modules prior to start\n
