Summary:

Our client, a 21-attorney law firm headquartered in Chicago is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team. The Litigation Legal Assistant will play a critical role in enhancing attorney effectiveness through comprehensive information-management support. Acting as a liaison to clients and other stakeholders, this position ensures seamless communication and case preparation while maintaining the firm's confidentiality standards and professional reputation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transcribe, format, input, edit, retrieve, copy, and transmit text, data, and graphics to support case preparation.
• Coordinate trial preparation tasks, such as preparing charts, graphs, and courtroom visuals.
• Manage incoming and outgoing legal documents, reports, and correspondence by researching, reviewing, and routing information.
• Draft letters, briefs, and supporting documentation as needed.
• Organize client conferences, attorney meetings, and telecommunication activities.
• Maintain attorneys' calendars by planning and scheduling conferences, dispositions, court appearances, and travel itineraries.
• Monitor filing requirements, pleading deadlines, evidence collection, and litigation preparation needs.
• Represent attorneys by communicating key information, following up on delegated assignments, and escalating matters when necessary.
• Assist in generating revenue through accurate documentation of billable attorney time and reimbursable expenses.
• Prepare invoices and track client payments.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and attorney information in accordance with professional standards.
• Develop and manage filing systems, meeting transcripts, and evidence maintenance processes.
• Explore opportunities to enhance departmental efficiency and contribute to the firm's reputation by taking initiative on new requests and adding value to internal processes.
