Job Description
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise and manage all irrigation department employees, including foremen, technicians, and assistants.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members to maintain a high level of technical skill and professionalism.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide mentorship to encourage growth and accountability.
- Maintain a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork across all irrigation operations.
Scheduling & Operations
- Develop and maintain work schedules to ensure timely completion of all projects and service calls.
- Dispatch crews efficiently based on priorities, skillsets, and client needs.
- Coordinate with other departments to align manpower and project timelines.
Technical Oversight
- Serve as the company’s expert on irrigation systems, troubleshooting, and water management.
- Oversee system design, layout, and installation methods to ensure efficiency and compliance with best practices.
- Provide technical guidance to field staff and clients regarding complex irrigation issues.
Client Relations
- Act as a primary point of contact for irrigation clients.
- Handle service requests, client concerns, and project follow-ups promptly and professionally.
- Prepare and present irrigation proposals, estimates, and designs.
- Support sales efforts by collaborating with the estimating and design teams.
Administrative & Financial Management
- Review and approve timesheets, work orders, and project documentation.
- Manage department budgets, expenses, and material orders.
- Ensure all records, warranties, and compliance paperwork are accurately maintained.
- Participate in bidding and estimating processes for new irrigation projects.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in irrigation installation, service, and management.
- Proven leadership experience in landscape or irrigation operations.
- Strong understanding of irrigation hydraulics, controls, and system design.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in irrigation design software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite, preferred.
- Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) or similar credential preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Ability to perform the following tasks with or without accommodation: lifting up to 50 lbs, standing and walking for up to 8 hours, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and working outside in direct sunlight and hot temperatures
- English language skills
