Job Description

School Basics is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our operations team. This role is essential for ensuring the timely and accurate routing of packages and shipments to our customers.

You will serve as a key point of contact between production facilities, transportation providers, office personnel, and customers, helping to manage and streamline day-to-day logistics operations. A working proficiency in Spanish is required for some communications.

The the ideal candidate will also:

  • Manage a small team (5-7 employees)

  • Report regularly to the main office

  • Work collaboratively

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily shipments and deliveries across production facilities, warehouses, and drivers

  • Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and fulfilled on schedule

  • Collaborate with office staff and warehouse teams to manage inventory, order picking, receiving, and shipping

  • Maintain real-time communication with drivers to provide routing updates and resolve delivery issues

  • Work with production and operations teams to prioritize orders and manage logistics timelines

  • Communicate with customers about delivery status, expected arrival times, and any changes or delays

  • Use shipping software to prepare documentation and manage shipment tracking

  • Monitor and enforce adherence to housekeeping standards and logistics best practices

  • Quickly and professionally address unexpected logistics issues (e.g., weather delays, vehicle breakdowns, routing changes)

  • Maintain accurate records of shipment details, delivery notes, and driver logs

  • Communicate regularly in both English and Spanish with vendors, partners, and drivers

  • Coordinate with other departments/offices to facilitate efficient warehouse operations

     

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent work experience

  • Fluency in English and Spanish

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant logistics or operations experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to contribute positively to team morale

  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and flexibility in a fast-paced environment

  • High attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Reside in Queens, Brooklyn, Lower Manhattan, NY or have a valid driver’s license

  • Working knowledge of i nventory management and control procedures

     

Benefits

  • $70,000 - $80,000 annual salary (Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary.)

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • On-site training provided

  • 3 weeks paid vacation allotment after your first 90 days
