TITLE: Warehouse Loader (Lead)

DEPARTMENT(S): Warehouse - Night Shift

REPORTS TO: Night Shift/Loader Supervisor

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the staging, loading, & unloading, of products to/from route trucks efficiently and accurately. Stock and maintain warehouse inventory as required. Maintain a clean and orderly facility and inventory. Understand, follow, and comply with all company safety and operating procedures and policies. The lead role is responsible for minimal planning and operational activities of the Kent warehouse night shift (Loading) to ensure efficient and effective warehouse management, inventory management, customer service and regulatory compliance.

Summary of essential job functions :

• Route Truck Loading (~95%)
  • Read the “Load sheet” to determine product to be “picked” for loading
  • Load product onto the correct route trucks (ensure the truck is clean and at the proper temperature)
  • Unload product from trucks and move products to correct warehouse storage (rotating product as required).
  • Ensure any Product/SKU # changes to the load sheets (substitutions, alternate SKU #'s, etc.) are documented and communicated to the appropriate departments/personnel
  • Quality Assurance Responsibilities:
    • Ensure the Products have adequate shelf life
    • No damaged product is to be loaded on the trucks
    • No damaged product is accepted into the warehouse
    • Ensure the correct Products & SKU #'s are loaded and recorded on paperwork
    • Note exceptions to management/supervisory personnel
• Receiving
  • Unload any Inbound shipments (Suppliers/Medosweet DC Transfers) following company Receiving standards
  • Warehouse personnel are responsible for complying with Medosweet's standards for receiving as documented in the company's receiving procedure.
  • Key elements include; Truck/Load security, sanitation, & temperature standards, ensuring product is accounted for, ensuring any exceptions documented, and accurately handling the paperwork on a timely basis.
• Warehouse Duties
  • Maintain a clean an orderly warehouse throwing waste in the dumpsters.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) & Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Operate forklift, electric pallet jacks, and trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisors any issues, Product/SKU # changes, etc.
  • Clean and maintain the warehouse to ensure a neat, orderly, sanitary, safe, inventory and facility
  • Turn off and charge equipment when not in use.
  • Other duties as assigned.
• Company Procedure and Policy Compliance
  • Understand, follow, and comply with all company safety and operating procedures and policies.

Summary of essential lead role job functions: (~5%)

• Route Loading Supervision entails the daily planning & supervision required to ensure Route Trucks are loading accurately and timely to meet company standards. It also covers ensuring that all applicable company processes and policies are being complied with.

• Miscellaneous Supervisor Activities include the following activities;

• • • Daily reporting of item shortages
    • Daily loader tracking reporting.
    • Yard security and operations compliance of tractors and trailers to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations

Mandatory Position Requirements:

• Loaders must test negative for drugs at their mandatory drug screening

• Loaders are subject to company standards for Background checks - No felonies are permitted

• Loaders must be 18 years of age or older and have a stable employment record.

• Loaders must be available to work weekends and holidays .

• Loaders are required to work mandatory overtime as required at the Supervisor's discretion

• Loaders must be able to load 60 pounds.

• Forklift certification and applicable state certification for material handling trucks and tractor operation.

• Manual dexterity required for operating equipment.

• Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time. (8+ hours)

• High School degree preferred

• Basic computer skills preferred

• Basic communication skills required

Position Minimum Requirements:

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required (English) - This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic working knowledge of excel and word.
• All employees are required to attend required training seminars, programs, and classes to continually improve on their skills (on-going education) and knowledge.
• All employees are required to attend quarterly safety meetings.

Working Conditions:

• Working conditions are in a refrigerated warehouse and freezer. (34 degrees average)
• Work involves repetitive lifting of materials and product up to 60 pounds. The Warehouse environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; work boots, and hardhats. Earrings, body piercings and jewelry are not permitted.
