Role Overview:  
The UI/UX Designer creates Therapist Aid's suite of products with a focus on human-centered digital tools. This role ensures the visual consistency, usability, and accessibility of our materials. Ideally, individuals in this role are enthusiastic designers with a portfolio in user design. The Design Associate reports to the Creative Manager and is a member of the Design Team.

What You’ll Do:
  • Collaborate with the content and development teams to design interactive, digital products for our website. Edit and apply feedback on projects.
  • Conduct UX research and facilitate user testing to improve Therapist Aid’s content and products.
  • Create images and videos to support the communication team's social media posts and campaigns.
  • Work with the content team to design graphics for mental health worksheets.
  • Maintain and uphold visual brand identity by modifying, refreshing, and revising existing design assets.
  • Document standard design procedures.
Your Skills and Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience in UX/UI design, computer science, or a related field, or educational equivalent.
  • Graphic Design Foundation: Proficiency and knowledge in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Word, Figma, etc.).
  • Creativity and Innovation: Ability to experiment, think creatively, and innovate design proposals.
  • Knowledge of UX Design: Foundational understanding of UX and visual design principles, web design, and accessibility standards.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure high-quality and accurate design work.
  • Communication: Shares ideas across teams and incorporates others’ feedback and ideas into their workflow.
  • Project Management: Efficient organizational and time management skills to handle multiple design projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Learning Mindset: A willingness to approach new design challenges and technology (e.g. YouTube). Practicing new skills deliberately and using feedback to proactively improve design and mental health tools.

Preferred skills and experience (not required)

  • Knowledge of HTML & CSS
  • Experience working in or adjacent to the mental health field
What We Offer:
  • Therapist Aid embodies a strong work-life balance. This position offers a flexible work schedule with a full-time expectation of 30 hours per week. This role may also be available in a part-time capacity (24 hours per week).
  • Base salary range: $30 - $35 per hour with generous, annual performance and profit bonus programs up to ~15% of staff's salary.
  • Full-time employees receive 18 days of paid time off annually and approximately three weeks of paid holidays.
  • IRA with 3% retirement match.
Where We Work:
Therapist Aid is headquartered in Jacksonville, FL with remote employees across Colorado, New Mexico, and Florida. There is a strong preference for candidates who reside in our working states (CO, FL, NM), but all applications within the US will be considered.
