Job Details:

• Work a varied work schedule with call requirements
\n• Assist physicians with advanced cardiovascular surgical procedures including cardiopulmonary bypass/heart-lung machine use, trans-esophageal echocardiogram studies, cardiac output assistive devices, and vascular access and interventions
\n• Perform and interpret various cardiac and vascular lab tests
\n• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards
\n• Complete patient assessments including physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs
\n• Formulate individualized plans of care utilizing assessment data and multidisciplinary team input
\n• Provide direct patient care through coordination, delegation and supervision of healthcare team activities
\n• Document all nursing care activities legibly, timely and in accordance with policy
\n• Supervise and provide direction to licensed and non-licensed personnel
\n• Participate in professional development activities including education, orientation, and mentoring when appropriate
\n• Must maintain current RN license in state of practice and BLS certification
\n• Minimum one year RN experience required
\n• New operating room nurses must complete Perioperative Academy curriculum and Banner RN Perioperative Services Competency Tool within first year
\n• Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to area of practice
\n• Minimum one year acute care hospital experience required with experience in specialty area within past 12 months
\n• Bachelor's degree and professional certification preferred
\n• One year of operating room and/or cardiovascular or vascular experience preferred
