Job Description

Central Maine Healthcare is looking for a Temporary Registered Nurse to join their long-term care team at Rumford Community Home! This position is full time on a temporary basis for 13 weeks with the potential of one 13-week extension for a total of 26 weeks. The RN is responsible for managing individualized direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations by promoting and restoring patients’ health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing exceptional patient experience by supporting and educating the patient and family throughout their hospitalization; functions as the patient advocate while actively following a plan of care responding to changes in condition and/or response to treatments. Education and Experience required include graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current Registered Nurse License in the state of Maine, current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS, and preferred long term care experience. Essential duties include obtaining nursing history, performing nursing assessments, developing plans of care, performing head-to-toe assessments, prioritizing during high acuity situations, administering medications correctly, assisting physicians with procedures, starting peripheral IVs, caring for post-surgical patients, treating patients and families with respect, addressing psychosocial and cultural needs, functioning as liaison between administration and healthcare providers, maintaining documentation standards, managing equipment safely, coordinating patient care, and participating in professional development and quality improvement activities. The role requires flexibility, organization, and the ability to function under stressful situations while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
