Position Summary: Responsible for creating, crafting, and presenting the best Sushi experience for every guest by embracing the passion for food, guest and experience that our restaurant exemplifies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Promotes superior guest service.
- Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tlcn and the Core Values of ilani.
- Consistently demonstrates collaborative, relationship building, welcoming and mutually respectful behaviors.
- Responsible for supplying and maintaining your own knives
- Be proactive in assisting other sushi chefs by taking orders from guests
- Improve your skills as a sushi chef by practicing and/or studying (books, internet, dine out).
- Follow orders from your leadership.
- Be a leader when working at middle section.
- Check the quality of fish and other materials when they are delivered to the restaurant.
- Check the quality of fish and other materials before preparing dish.
- Be proactive with providing an engaging and professional guest experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
- 3 years' experience prepping and preparing Sushi in a high-volume restaurant.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
- Valid Food Handler's card.
- Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
- Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.
