Location: Onsite in NYC (SoHo, WeWork) with an initial 3-month residency in San Francisco as part of a top AI residency program

Type: Full-time, in-person only (no hybrid or remote)

The Role

They are hiring their first Infrastructure Engineer to join the core team of four engineers. You\'ll lead the effort in scaling distributed systems and orchestrating AI agents, working closely with engineers across ML, frontend, and infrastructure. The role combines deep backend engineering with modern AI integration.

As part of onboarding, you will spend your first three months in San Francisco , participating in a prestigious AI residency program gaining access to world-class mentorship, resources, and a network of industry leaders before returning to NYC.

What Youll Do

• Build and scale backend infrastructure for real-time AI-powered workflows
• Design service orchestration for multi-agent systems (e.g., MCP-like coordination)
• Optimize cloud systems for cost, latency, and reliability (cloud-agnostic preferred)
• Develop robust API layers and voice-processing pipelines
• Implement caching, monitoring, autoscaling, and fault-tolerant systems

You Should Have

• 36+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience
• Proven ability to build systems from scratch in high-stakes environments
• Strong cloud architecture skills (GCP a plus, but not required)
• Experience with distributed systems, real-time data, and API scalability
• Bonus: AI service orchestration, MLOps, or real-time audio processing experience
