Job Description

The hourly shift leader duties include:

1. Delegates tasks to restaurant staff and supervises their performance.
2. Maintains a fully-stocked inventory and orders food supplies as needed.
3. Arranges to have shifts covered (e.g., when employees take time off).
4. Helps staff resolve on-the-job challenges.
5. Tracks and impacts daily costs and revenues, including labor, food cost, guest satisfaction, and sales.
6. Balances the cash drawer at the end of the shift.
7. Coordinates with suppliers as they deliver food product orders.
8. Ensures client satisfaction and gracefully handles any complaints.
9. Opens or closes the restaurant (when responsible for the first or last shift).
10. Informs the next Shift Leader about pending tasks.
11. Reports maintenance and training needs.
12. Protects establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
13. Other duties as requested by management.

This is for a position at a franchised McAlister’s Deli location.
