About the Role
The Company is seeking an SVP/VP, Excess Property Division Manager to lead its Excess Property underwriting division. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a focus on Excess and Surplus lines placements for excess commercial property, particularly in the small to medium-sized schedule market. This role requires the management of relationships with wholesale brokers, the development of underwriting guidelines, and the establishment of a team of talented underwriters. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in underwriting management, strong technical knowledge of excess property exposures, and the ability to generate new business and nurture client relationships. A key aspect of the role is the responsibility for the division's profitability, so the candidate must have a broad understanding of market trends and a proven ability to generate an underwriting profit.
