WORK LOCATION: This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent on site and working remote from home. This is a senior design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Electrical Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.
- Lead Electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team
- Responsible for production of engineering calculations/analyses and engineering reports
- Prepare design inputs for drawing production including electrical site plans, power and lighting plans, one-line diagrams, assembly drawings, conduit and wire run schedules, wiring diagrams, elementary diagrams
- Apply electrical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components
- Produce procurement specifications and construction specifications
- Attend project meetings and perform field walkdowns
- Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced engineers
Qualifications Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify. Essential skills and experience:
- BSEE or MSEE degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Five or more years of progressive responsible experience in electrical engineering in a nuclear environment
- Experience with producing engineering designs for low to medium voltage electrical distribution systems and instrumentation wiring; Experience with more than one type of system a plus
- Experience with NEC, UL508, electrical codes, and IES Lighting Handbook
- Proficiency or ability to learn load flow and/or arc flash analysis software such as ETAP and/or SKM Power Tools
- Proficiency or ability to learn lighting analysis software such as Visual and AGI32
- Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
Valued but required skills and experience:
- PE license
- DOE experience preferred; commercial or Navy
- Field Engineering and Construction Experience

Compensation Range $118,000 - $141,000
About This Business Unit Sargent & Lundy's Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering design and consulting support to the management and operating contractors for US Department of Energy (DOE) sites and national laboratories. Specifically, we support the DOE Environmental Management Directorate as well as the National Nuclear Security Administration laboratories and sites. What does this mean?
