Senior Database Engineer (Elastic/Mongo/Hadoop) Join to apply for the Senior Database Engineer (Elastic/Mongo/Hadoop) role at CatchProbe Intelligence Technologies . Job Details Workplace Type: Remote Region: San Francisco, CA Job Description Experience with MongoDB installations, upgrades, and support. Administration, maintenance, performance analysis, and capacity planning for MongoDB, Elastic, and Hadoop clusters. Coordinate with application teams on MongoDB capacity planning. Proficiency with MongoDB tools (mongodump, mongoexport, mongorestore, mongoimport, mongostat, mongotop). Strong knowledge of JSON scripting, writing queries in shell scripts and mongo shell. Support for sharded clusters, upgrades, and configuration maintenance. Monitor and manage capacity requirements (CPU, memory, storage). Assist application teams in performance bottleneck resolution. Knowledge of authentication/authorization methods in MongoDB (SCRAM-SHA1, X509, LDAP), including TLS/SSL reconfiguration. Develop automated solutions for scripts, reports, upgrades, and installs. Experience with NoSQL technologies. Familiarity with Cloud Manager and metrics sharing. Experience with Docker, deploying MongoDB containers, and supporting database administration within Docker. Knowledge of Hadoop system administration is a plus. Deploy Hadoop clusters, manage nodes, monitor services, configure HA, backup, and restore. Create scripts for log review and alerting for long-running queries. Experience with other data storage tech (Postgres, MySQL, Kafka, Kinesis). Scripting experience with Python and Shell. Build services and expose APIs for data infrastructure automation. Required Skills Understanding of relational and non-relational databases and their use cases. 5+ years supporting NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Hadoop). 1-2 years working with cloud providers (Hetzner, AWS, Azure, GCP). Proficiency in automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform). Willingness to learn new technologies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Software development experience and knowledge of modern processes. Knowledge of programming languages (Java, Go, Node.js, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap) is a plus. Experience or knowledge in AI/ML is a plus. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and lead teams. Work well under pressure and exercise judgment independently. Excellent communication skills. Proactive and involved approach. Ownership of Data Lake clusters and acting as technical contact for Hadoop applications. Assist in onboarding new applications to Data Lake. Provide support for Hadoop platform issues. Core Responsibilities Develop solutions for complex system engineering problems, set policies, and create documentation. Manage Operating Systems and disks, mentor team members, automate tasks. Manage database platforms, optimize performance, and establish policies. Handle storage and backup, evaluate technologies, and create policies. Develop software in modern languages, optimize database-backed systems, and design scalable solutions. Architect network systems, understand protocols, and advise on system design. Recommend and advise on web services, application servers, and system scaling. Analyze systems, lead issue resolution, and define monitoring requirements. Lead audits, manage issues, and communicate effectively. Exercise judgment independently and maintain punctual attendance.
