What You'll Do

Epic is seeking an experienced Senior Concept Artist to join our team working on Fortnite, Rocket League, and Rocket Racing. A successful candidate should possess a strong sense of vehicle design, knowledge of 3D software, and a solid foundation in art theories. Must be a team player, and should also demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously. The role involves working closely with the Art Director and Lead Concept Artist in creating appealing vehicle designs. The candidate will collaborate with the art team to implement and sustain the creative vision for the game.
In this role, you will
  • Produce artwork encompassing all facets of development, including vehicle designs, props, VFX exploration, pitch concepts, and marketing materials based on direction from Art Director, Lead Concept, and input from the game design team
  • Based on visual direction from the Art Director, collaborate on the visual style and ensure our designs are of Epic quality bar create and iterate unique and stunning designs within a determined production schedule
  • A versatile artist capable of executing a variety of styles and able to pivot based on the needs of the project
  • Collaborate with other discipline teams to produce a cohesive game experience
What we're looking for
  • An eye for modern automotive aesthetics that speak to our audience of teens and young adults
  • Ability to work within gameplay design restraints (environment scale, character abilities, prototype function, etc.) and translate those restrictions into visuals that enhance the experience
  • Experience creating mechanical designs
  • Experience in 3D software such as Maya, blender, and/or Zbrush
  • Excellent foundation skills, including composition, design, and color theory, and advanced knowledge of industrial design
  • Experienced in working with external outsourcing vendors
  • Has an excellent understanding of art pipelines
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of various art disciplines

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

$155,111-$227,495 USD
