Senior Complex Litigation Attorney - New York, NY

A nationally recognized defense litigation firm is seeking a skilled Senior Complex Litigation Attorney to join its New York office. This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced attorney with 8+ years of defense litigation experience, particularly in areas such as personal injury, general liability, transportation, and catastrophic injury.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a complex litigation caseload independently, from inception through resolution. This includes trial preparation, court appearances, mediations, depositions, and collaboration with senior attorneys and partners. The role offers direct client interaction and the chance to work with high-profile national clients in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
• Provide strategic guidance and regular updates to clients
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop case strategies
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to team development

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in New York
• 8+ years of defense litigation experience, ideally in personal injury, transportation, or general liability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to manage complex matters and build strong client relationships
• First-chair trial experience a plus
• Legal project management experience preferred
