Title: Roof Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance
Immediate Supervisor: Maintenance Supervisor or Designee
Job Goal: Work in conjunction with other Operations staff to maintain all District roofs to provide a safe and attractive facility that enhances a learning environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Regularly inspects district roofs to find any issues before they become a problem.
* Cleans debris from roof surfaces and roof drains and maintain them in proper condition.
* Prioritizes and coordinate with other workers as needed to complete roof repair work within the district. Performs these tasks alone and with others on the maintenance team
* Performs roof repairs on all types of District roofs
* Assists in providing oversight of roofing contractors
* Assists supervisor with inventory, ordering supplies and ensures the use of supplies and equipment is consistent with established safety standards and practices.
* Performs daily preventive equipment maintenance on all equipment used.
* Uses and maintains power tools in the proper fashion and with the proper safety requirements.
* Keeps work area clean and orderly to keep accidents down and comply with OSHA regulations.
* Cleans and prepares District construction sites to eliminate hazards.
* Other duties may be assigned.
Length of Contract: 245 contract days.
Salary commensurate with experience on the negotiated agreement of the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE).
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Maintenance Supervisor or Designee in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies, state law, and the negotiated agreement with the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE).

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Minimum of one (1) year related experience required; construction experience preferred. Knowledge of Edmond and Oklahoma City Building codes beneficial. Basic PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required to perform the duties of this position
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record as defined by the district's insurance carrier.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to plan budgets and use the mathematical skills required to do so. Maintain accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of the position.
REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies needed to perform essential job functions. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. Ability to organize and chair or facilitate committees and meetings. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
