Job Description
We are seeking a customer-focused Retail Associate to join our Japanese grocery, coffee, and sushi shop. This unique position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that blends specialty Japanese groceries, artisan coffee, and made-to-order sushi. Key Responsibilities:Greet customers and provide product knowledge on Japanese groceries, snacks, and beverages
Operate the cash register, process transactions, and handle returns or exchanges professionally
Restock shelves, maintain product displays, and monitor inventory levels
Assist with packaging takeout sushi and coffee orders accurately and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the retail, coffee, and sushi prep areas
Communicate effectively with sushi chefs, baristas, and team members to ensure smooth workflow
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
Educate customers on daily specials, product origins, and preparation tips
Prior experience in retail, grocery, or food service is preferred but not required
Interest in Japanese food, ingredients, and culture
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
