We are seeking a Research Associate to support our Research Team in providing timely, high-quality research and analysis. This role is ideal for someone interested in current events, policy, and government affairs, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Reporting directly to the Director of Research, this position works alongside other associates, interns, and support staff to support senior staff and client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting research memos, policy briefs, and client communications.
  • Monitor daily news and prepare summaries or updates for the internal team.
  • Track federal legislation and regulatory activity of interest to clients.
  • Help compile and distribute regular newsletters and as-needed policy updates.
  • Conduct background research on issues, legislation, and stakeholders.
  • Attend congressional hearings, briefings, and events to take notes and complete comprehensive hearing summaries.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Director of Research, Principals, and Partners across client teams.
  • Perform other research and support tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required. Preferred areas of study: Public Policy, Political Science or similar.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (internship, Capitol Hill, think tank, research, or communications experience preferred).
  • Strong interest in public policy, government affairs, politics, and communications.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into concise, clear summaries.
  • Can communicate in a neutral, balanced, and fact-based manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Team-oriented, but able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with the legislative process and congressional operations is a plus.
