Description:
Provide care for patients in Labor and Delivery.
Monitor and assist in various delivery types, including cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries.
Stabilize and care for newborns in the delivery room.
Perform postpartum care and newborn assessments.
Administer medications and manage IV therapies.
Conduct fetal monitoring and recognize abnormal patterns.
Support patients during high-risk deliveries and manage complications.
Assist in emergency care, including cardiac arrest situations.
Educate parents on newborn care and discharge procedures.
Use rapid response team as needed.
Follow staffing guidelines for laboring patients and couplet care.
Participate in triage and antepartum care procedures.
Provide isolation precautions and adhere to safety protocols.
Assist with lactation support and breastfeeding education.
Manage pain using various techniques, including anesthesia options.
Conduct postpartum assessments and wound care.
Complete various procedures, including cervical cerclage and D&C.
Participate in community-level experience through facility births.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.
