Overview: Tandem Specialized, Inc. (
Tandem Specialized is growing and looking to expand our existing fleet of OTR flatbed truck drivers. Tandem is a family operated trucking company with several decades of experience in the trucking industry. The average age of our trucks is less than 2 years old. Tandem offers drivers the flexibility to park at the comfort of their own home. *Additionally, Tandem has flatbed options that come equipped with conestogas (sliding tarps), or open deck flatbeds with a $50 tarping bonus included on every load.*
*Pay and Benefits: *
* Minimum guaranteed 2,000 miles/week for home every weekend plan
* Minimum guaranteed 2,250 miles/week for home every OTHER weekend plan
* *Ability to earn $70,000 - $90,000 as an OTR flatbed truck driver. *
* Weekly compensation = over $70,000 in 1st year.
*About:*
* All trucks are equipped with sleeper-berths and include inverters, APU, fridge, and bunk heaters.
* Average age of trucks is 2 years old. We target 4-year trade cycles.
* In addition to our 2-axle flatbeds, Tandem also operates a large fleet of 8-axle flatbeds, B-trains, and several 53’ dry vans.
* Region consists of mostly Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee.
* We have OTR opportunities throughout the Midwest and South.
* Main operating terminal in Grayling, MI with 24/7 access to driver lounge and showers. A second smaller office is located in St. Louis, MI.
* Drivers are home every weekend and guaranteed minimum miles. Drivers may also choose to be home every other weekend, with higher mileage guarantees.
*Job Requirements:*
* *Class A CDL required with a minimum of 1-year experience as a flatbed driver*
* Truck Driving: 1-year (Required)
* Ability to pass DOT physical exam (Required)
* Must pass pre-employment drug testing (Required)
* Extensive knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations
* Willingness to haul freight into Canada is a plus, and comes with additional bonuses.
*Job Description:*
* Participate in periodic DOT trainings
* Random DOT drug screens
* Haul freight throughout the Midwest with some southern states
* Emphasis on the States of MI, IL, IN, OH, KY, WI, TN
* NO travel to the Northeast (New England, Long Island, etc.).
* Verify shipment accuracy with paperwork and collect proof of delivery signatures
* Have a professional attitude and be courteous to staff and customers
* Ability to throw straps to properly secure cargo
* Willingness to pull various trailer types is highly desired
* Willingness to tarp loads using 8’ drop tarps
