Job Title: Process Engineer

Location: Fremont, CA

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Apply principles of engineering, thermal or fluid sciences, mathematics, or statistics to optimize processes as per customer requirements.
  • Write test protocols, perform tests to fully characterize new equipment or processes utilizing DOE methodology or other statistically sound methods, then write completion reports.
  • Collaborate internally to plan, collect data, analyze results, and report on customer demos for existing process applications.
  • Compile and analyze test data to establish the next steps in process development and determine appropriate limits and variables for process specifications.
  • Identify, analyze, and provide solutions and alternate approaches to complex problems, using independent creativity and judgment.
  • Communicate findings and proposals to upper management.
  • Partner cross-functionally and with customers to understand roadmaps, process flow, inflection points, requirements, and business challenges.
  • Train, develop, and/or provide work direction to operators, technicians, and junior-level engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Master degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3 to 10+ years of relevant process engineering experience in the semiconductor or semiconductor equipment industry.
  • In-depth understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience with statistical tools (JMP, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or other similar scientific computing language preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new skills, and new technologies, and develop solutions based on project needs.
  • Familiarity with working in a laboratory and on semiconductor equipment with experience in surface preparation, analytical techniques, and material characterization.
  • Ability to function well in a diverse, team-focused, fast-paced environment with changing requirements.
  • Ability to travel up to ~40% locally or internationally.

Compensation

  • The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000 per year; higher compensation may be available depending on advanced skills and/or specific experience.

  • YES also offers a performance-based annual bonus and a competitive benefits package, which includes a 401(k) match, medical, dental, vision and life insurance, in addition to flexible PTO and company stock.
