LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected healthcare organization in Fort Atkinson, WI to identify a Privacy and Compliance Officer for a full-time, permanent opportunity. This role oversees the Health Information Management (HIM) Department and supports medical records release and coding accuracy, both of which directly impact billing operations. Additionally, this role supports a wide range of compliance functions, including audits, training, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the HIM Manager and Coding Coordinator on annual goals and ensure progress against timelines
Evaluate and revise policies and procedures to ensure HIPAA compliance and alignment with payer and regulatory requirements
Lead and support coding accuracy and compliance training initiatives, including Fraud & Abuse training and attestations for Medicare Advantage and ACO programs
Select, hire, train, and supervise departmental staff
Assist in the development and execution of the organization’s Compliance Plan
Represent compliance and privacy leadership in cross-functional committees (e.g., JQIC, Q&VBC, ISPC, CORE, etc.)
Investigate potential HIPAA breaches, conduct internal interviews, maintain logs, and coordinate with legal and compliance leadership
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Management experience required
At least 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Strong background in healthcare compliance and HIPAA required
