Job Title: Privacy and Compliance Officer

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected healthcare organization in Fort Atkinson, WI to identify a Privacy and Compliance Officer for a full-time, permanent opportunity. This role oversees the Health Information Management (HIM) Department and supports medical records release and coding accuracy, both of which directly impact billing operations. Additionally, this role supports a wide range of compliance functions, including audits, training, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the HIM Manager and Coding Coordinator on annual goals and ensure progress against timelines

  • Evaluate and revise policies and procedures to ensure HIPAA compliance and alignment with payer and regulatory requirements

  • Lead and support coding accuracy and compliance training initiatives, including Fraud & Abuse training and attestations for Medicare Advantage and ACO programs

  • Select, hire, train, and supervise departmental staff

  • Assist in the development and execution of the organization’s Compliance Plan

  • Represent compliance and privacy leadership in cross-functional committees (e.g., JQIC, Q&VBC, ISPC, CORE, etc.)

  • Investigate potential HIPAA breaches, conduct internal interviews, maintain logs, and coordinate with legal and compliance leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Management experience required

  • At least 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred

  • Strong background in healthcare compliance and HIPAA required
