The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy department within a healthcare facility. This role involves ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, managing pharmacy staff, and providing exceptional patient service. The Pharmacy Manager will collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care, particularly in areas such as acute care, pain management, and pediatrics.

Duties

• Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
• Oversee medication management processes, including prescribing, dispensing, and monitoring medication therapy.
• Conduct patient assessments to evaluate medication needs and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement utilization management strategies.
• Provide guidance on acute pain management protocols and ensure appropriate pain management practices are followed.
• Maintain accurate records of medication utilization and conduct utilization reviews as necessary.
• Stay informed about new medications, therapies, and best practices in pharmacy operations.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality assurance measures within the pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of physiology and pharmacology relevant to patient care in acute settings.
• Familiarity with pain management strategies and pediatric medication considerations.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality patient service while managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals and patients.
• Ability to assess patient needs accurately and make informed decisions regarding medication therapy.
• Prior experience in utilization management or review is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
