B A Die Mold is seeking a Mold Designer to join our team in Fox Valley/Aurora. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Mold Design experience. The Designer leads the designing of complex plastic injection molds, managing projects with a fast-paced, concurrent design/build approach. Expert in CAD/CAM tools, this role designs intricate molds with multiple angled shutoffs, cavities, core pull actions, lifters, and two-stage knockouts, unscrewing (both hydraulic and servo). Most mold will be single cavity to 32 cavity. Small to medium in size. The position requires managing multiple projects and collaborating closely with customers and the mold manufacturing team. Responsibilities: Participate in preliminary design estimates in the quoting process. Lead the design process from concept through the build, to design validation sample. Completion of final design models and detailed prints according to customer specifications. Provides job planning, Bill of Materials, Routings, progress reports, etc. as required. Assists with research/selection of vendors for placing outsourced work. Frequent contact with customers regarding design requirements; with suppliers for materials and outsourced work. Other duties as required. Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience in Mold Design Experience with DFM early in the engineering process High level proficiency in NX Knowledge of SolidWorks Project Manager skills, a plus Prior Mold building experience and machining a plus.
