Job Description

Job Summary: The Medical Biller will assist with submitting claims, processing payments, and managing accounts receivable for a busy neurosurgery practice. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow in medical billing, develop specialized knowledge in neurosurgical procedures, and contribute to the smooth operation of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Claims Management:

Prepare and submit in and out-of-network insurance claims.
Verify coding accuracy (ICD-10, CPT) and ensure compliance with billing guidelines.
Handle payment posting.
Address denied or rejected claims, being accountable for following timely filing guidelines.
Follow up on appeal status

Patient Billing:

Generate patient invoices and follow up on outstanding balances.
Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance.

Insurance Coordination:

Work closely with insurance companies to confirm coverage and benefits.
Review pre-authorizations and coordinate with the clinical team.

Compliance:

Ensure billing practices align with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
Stay updated on changes to medical billing codes and payer policies.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (Pay level dependent on candidate's relevant experience/training and work performance.)
