Base pay range $145,800.00/yr - $153,090.00/yr Responsibilities: Safely operate and navigate towing vessel on inland waterways Ensure compliance with all USCG & Company regulations and procedures Conduct vessel inspections and perform necessary maintenance checks Manage and communicate with traffic and VTS Monitor weather conditions and make necessary adjustments to voyage plans Perform emergency procedures and respond to vessel emergencies Maintain accurate logs and records Requirements: Hold a valid mate/pilot license or master of towing, including appropriate tonnage and/or endorsements for the vessel and route. Possess a minimum number of trips on routes to be traveled by vessel. Have a strong understanding of boat handling principles, navigation, and meteorology Demonstrate mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve vessel issues Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in high-stress situations Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with crew members and traffic, and VTS Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. 1500hp boat 28/14 rotation Pushing 1-4 barges on west canal and LMR. Experience headlining and towlining preferred. Pay depends on experience and license held. Plenty of opportunity for fast advancement for crew that perform well.
