Job Description

*Job Summary*
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting patients with their eyewear needs, providing exceptional service, and ensuring a smooth experience from selection to fitting. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals.

*Responsibilities*

* Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and personal preferences.
* Perform fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses to ensure optimal comfort and functionality.
* Maintain accurate patient records, including prescriptions, medical history, and billing information.
* Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
* Collaborate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Manage inventory of eyewear products and supplies, including ordering and restocking as necessary.
* Provide support in retail sales by promoting products and services effectively.
* Utilize medical coding for insurance claims processing when necessary.

*Skills*

* Strong background in retail management to enhance customer experience and sales performance.
* Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes relevant to optical services.
* Understanding of anatomy related to the eye, including common conditions treated in ophthalmology.
* Ability to take vital signs when required as part of patient assessment.
* Proficient in retail sales techniques to drive product engagement and customer satisfaction.
* Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness in the work environment.
* Experience managing medical records accurately for compliance with healthcare regulations.
