Overview:
Our client is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join our property management team as a Leasing Agent. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, managing administrative tasks, and being part of a supportive, collaborative onsite team. The role will be based at a large residential community and requires someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle a dynamic workload with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Leasing Functions:
- Conduct apartment tours for prospective residents
- Respond to leasing inquiries and follow up on leads
- Process rental applications and applicant screenings
- Execute lease agreements and collect deposits
- Maintain online property listings on platforms such as Zillow and Apartments.com
- Ensure units are move-in ready and assist with inspections
- Assist with issuing notices and monthly rent collection
- Build relationships with potential renters and provide outstanding customer service
Administrative Support:
- Manage leasing documentation and finalize tenant files
- Process certified mail notices in accordance with local housing regulations
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and messages
- Support the preparation of internal reports and advertising materials
- Work closely with site staff to ensure smooth daily operations
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of general office, customer service, or sales experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
- Willingness to learn property management software and leasing procedures
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with property management systems (e.g., AMSI, Entrata)
- Familiarity with Fair Housing, ADA, and Landlord-Tenant laws
- Bilingual abilities
- Background in affordable housing or nonprofit environments
Work Environment:
- Large residential property spanning over 13 acres
- High volume of leasing activity, especially during summer months
- Supportive, long-tenured team with a focus on collaboration and respect
- Majority of resident interactions are phone-based; occasional property tours required
Additional Information:
- Office is closed Sundays
- Must be available to work Saturdays (most active leasing day)
- Occasional local travel may be required for errands such as banking
