Come join the Alachua County Property Appraiser's Office as the Social Media Graphic Designer. You will work closely with the marketing and communications team to create visually engaging graphics for social media and email marketing platforms. The Alachua County Property Appraiser's mission is to provide quality services to customers and ensure the equitable administration of property taxation laws and best practices. Ayesha Solomon, CFE, serves as the Property Appraiser. The agency's social media site is a limited public forum subject to moderation guidelines and public records laws for transparency.

Role Description

This is an internship role for a Social Media Graphic Designer located on-site in Gainesville, FL. The Social Media Graphic Designer Intern will be responsible for helping to construct, implement, and support the social media strategy for the Alachua County Property Appraiser's Office (ACPA).

Qualifications (Generalized)

• Graphics, Graphic Design, and Image Editing skills
• Logo Design and Branding skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Understanding of social media platforms and trends
• Strong creative and visual storytelling abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Currently pursuing or completed a degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Design Responsibilities:

• Create eye-catching graphics, infographics, and visual assets for social media and email platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Mailchimp).
• Edit and enhance images, videos, and other multimedia content.
• Ensure all designs align with brand guidelines and project objectives.

1. Collaborations and Content Development:

• Work with the communications team to brainstorm and conceptualize creative content ideas.
• Assist in creating and maintaining a content calendar for social media posts.
• Collaborate with internal departments to develop integrated campaigns for community outreach initiatives, marketing efforts, and branded content.

1. Social Media Engagement and Monitoring:

• Stay updated on design trends and social media platform requirements to produce engaging and relevant content.
• Monitor relevant social conversations around the Property Appraiser, Alachua County, and the local landscape to lead community communications efforts.
• Help manage relationships with local government agencies, affiliates, and vendors.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar software.
• Basic knowledge of video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects) is a plus.
• Strong portfolio showcasing graphic design work, especially for digital and social media.
• Understanding of social media trends and best practices.
• Proficiency with social media platforms and analytics tools such as Blinkfire, Sprout Social, Sprinklr, or equivalent.
• Experience using DSLR cameras and the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred but not required.
