The Instructional Designer develops online curriculum while employing working knowledge of current technologies, to create high-quality, engaging, interactive, and effective e-learning products.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, educational technology or closely related field
  • Must be a resident of Illinois or Indiana.
  • Two years of professional experience in instructional design
  • Proficiency with video editing software such as Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, iMovie, or similar
  • Experience with Articulate Rise (required) and Storyline (preferred) for e-learning development
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint for course content and visual design
  • Basic graphic design and multimedia skills (MS Office design tools sufficient; Adobe Creative Cloud a plus)
  • Ability to transform technical or complex information into clear, engaging learning materials
  • Strong writing and editing skills for course content and scripts
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially with formatting and version control
  • Clear communication skills for working with trainers and the instructional team
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to work on an as needed basis during normal office hours.
  • While the position is remote, must reside within the state of Illinois.
  • Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Characteristics, and Abilities: 
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, educational technology or closely related field
  • Three or more years of professional experience in online instructional design.
  • Two years of work experience with the Learning Management System, Canvas.

Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., M-F (Flexibility is necessary to support the goals of the program.)

Status: Temporary (Appointment ends June 30, 2026.)

 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week required.

 
Starting Wage: $38.46 – $43.59
