What you will do:

We have multiple opportunities for HVAC Refrigeration Journeymen with specific experience with supermarket rack systems or display cases, who have worked as part of a construction team in light commercial and/or heavy commercial markets to join our team to work with the most advanced heavy commercial and industrial cutting-edge equipment.

Journeyman must be skilled craftsmen in their trade, and we prefer a minimum of five (5) years actual, practical working experience in commercial and industrial HVAC systems, specializing in mechanical troubleshooting and rack refrigeration, Walk-in Coolers & Freezer. You may be required to pass a satisfactory examination as to your special skill.

• Repair equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customers’ expectations. 
• Be proactive in refrigerant leak checking and repairs.
• Perform refrigeration/HVAC preventive maintenance checks in a timely manner as assigned.  
• Monitor and log refrigerant usage within assigned stores.
• Participate in company’s “on call” after hours emergency call program. 
• Assist with trouble shooting problems. 
• Complete equipment inventories as assigned. 
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 

What we look for:

Required

• Requires Mechanical Journeyman status from the Local 486 hall or must be willing to join the union.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in commercial and industrial HVAC systems, specializing in mechanical troubleshooting and rack refrigeration, Walk-in Coolers & Freezer.
• Valid driver's license, appropriate licenses to work with refrigerants, boiler and steam operational & service knowledge.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with supermarket rack systems, display cases, self-contained cases, ice machines and walk-ins highly preferred. 
• Journeyman qualified in refrigeration and HVAC systems, or equivalent work experience. 
• EPA certified for refrigerant handling class I & II, or universal. 

Pay Range: $47.78 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
