Job Description

Job Description

Description:

WLS Stamping is a stable, family-owned, short-run metal stamping manufacturer with three plants and a central corporate office in Northeast Ohio. Many of our employees have been with the company for decades, creating a strong sense of loyalty and tradition. As we modernize our technology, systems, and processes, we need an HR leader who can support that transition with clarity, accountability, and respect for our long-tenured workforce.

This is a hands-on, broad-scope HR leadership role—not a paperwork job. The HR Manager will own HR compliance, employee relations, and the modernization of people processes across all locations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

HR Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as the primary HR leader for all company locations, providing guidance and support to leadership.
  • Align HR initiatives with organizational goals to drive performance and cultural improvement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the President and management team on workforce planning and organizational development.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly, skilled trade, and professional roles.
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth integration for new hires.
  • Develop partnerships with schools and workforce agencies to strengthen talent pipelines.
  • Implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and leadership capabilities.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture that reflects WLS values.
  • Provide fair and consistent guidance to employees and supervisors on HR-related matters.
  • Address employee concerns promptly and professionally, supporting conflict resolution and retention initiatives.

Compliance & Policy Management

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, OSHA, EEO, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation and records.
  • Update and enforce company policies and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure consistency.

Leave Management

  • Administer FMLA and other leave programs, ensuring compliance and process efficiency.
  • Implement strategies to reduce absenteeism and improve attendance accountability.

Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations

  • Oversee benefits administration and coordinate payroll processes in partnership with finance.
  • Monitor compensation practices to ensure competitiveness and equity.
  • Utilize HRIS systems for reporting, analytics, and process improvements.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (Paylocity) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.

Work Environment

Air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned environments; hazardous materials such as solvents and petroleum-based products; machinery, heavy tools, raw material, material handling equipment, and warehouse racking.
