The Head of Applications has overall responsibility for leading semiconductor technology/applications in the U.S. in close collaboration with the team in Germany. The position is responsible for ensuring success by penetrating technology within ZEISS and understanding what customers need across the board, successfully bringing this knowledge back to HQ in data-driven terms. Additionally this position is responsible for leading and developing the applications team in its global role with responsibility for driving technology, both current and future. The position will be part of the global technology leadership team. Responsibilities include managing and developing the applications team, ensuring team priorities align with organizational goals, leading all applications-related activities to drive technological innovation, coordinating ongoing technology development, participating in the global technology leadership team, assessing current and future technology needs, and aligning global and regional technology strategies. Qualifications include an advanced degree in Engineering or Sciences (PhD preferred), extensive semiconductor industry expertise, proven project and team management experience, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, strategic leadership experience, and a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role focused on technology development and operational excellence.
