The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an experienced Recreational Therapist Coordinator to lead our innovative recreational therapy services for psychiatric inpatients. Enjoy fantastic state health benefits, retirement options, and up to 6 weeks of paid parental leave!

Responsibilities:

• Provide and supervise high-quality recreational therapy services across six inpatient behavioral health units.
• Oversee the development and delivery of customized therapeutic recreation programs for diverse patient populations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate recreational therapy into comprehensive treatment plans.
• Supervise and mentor experiential therapists, conducting performance reviews and facilitating their professional development.
• Ensure all services adhere to hospital policies and regulatory standards while promoting a patient-centered care approach.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Art, Music, Recreation Therapy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in therapeutic programs in behavioral or mental health, or 1-year experience with a Master's degree.
• Credentialed as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), or relevant certification in Music or Art Therapy.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Strong interpersonal, creative, and resourceful skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
