Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a French and Spanish Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at an independent school in Los Angeles, CA.

French and Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:

• Teach a total of four language sections, with a combination of French and Spanish, to students in grades 6–12.
• Providing conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
• Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
• Scheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinations.
• Monitoring student's progress by writing up reports and grading assessments.
• Organizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable.
• Providing suggestions for further learning and scheduling intervention sessions with struggling students.
• Teaching students about Spanish and French culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
• Organizing fun events where students can showcase their Spanish and French language skills.

French and Spanish Teacher Requirements:

• An undergraduate degree in Spanish, French or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 2-3 years of previous teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
• Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.
• Detail-oriented and resilient.

Additional Desired Qualities:

• Willingness to work with both middle and high school students.
• Passion for foreign language education.
• Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
• Serve as an advisor for middle and upper school students.
