Responsibilities:

  • Act as the SQF Practitioner, maintaining and overseeing the SQF System.
  • Hold authority and responsibility for Food Safety, including the power to initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety procedures across all production stages.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external audits related to food safety and quality.
  • Oversee the Pest Control Program, ensuring compliance with all related standards.
  • Educate and train employees on food safety and quality standards.
  • Address and document all customer complaints, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound products for compliance with specifications.
  • Manage internal food safety documentation, including lot code tracking, allergen control, and spec adherence.
  • Monitor FDA-issued recalls and ensure vendor compliance and approval.
  • Manage all internal recall procedures.
  • Oversee verification and validation processes for all food safety and quality systems.
  • Ensure compliance with the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Respond to and fulfill external document-action requests.
  • Manage the Quality Department budget and supervise the Product Development Specialist.
  • Participate in inventory control activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in a quality control role within food manufacturing.
  • Proven management experience, including team supervision and budget management.
  • Extensive experience with food safety third-party audits such as SQF, BRC, FDA, and AIBI.
  • SQF Certification.
  • HACCP Certification.
  • PCQI Certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations and food safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with inventory control processes in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lead training and development initiatives related to food safety and quality.
  • Proficiency in managing and interpreting quality control data and metrics.
  • Experience in product development and innovation within the food industry.
