Area 2 Farms in Arlington, VA, is looking for a part-time " Farm Hand " to join our team.

This is a unique opportunity to get your hands dirty and work hand in hand with our team. You will be able to learn about every aspect of organic farming.

Responsibilities:

• You will get a chance to join a team that produces fresh food for your community. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining the taste, quality, and freshness of our products and assisting in the daily care of our plants. You will seed, transplant, harvest, and pack our harvests for our neighbors. Keep the farm, farm equipment, and work areas clean and organized, adhering to the highest standards of workforce safety and food safety. Following standard operating procedures and being able to operate as a team is essential to ensure we are producing amazing food for our community.
• This is a part-time position (average 30 hours per week) with a rotating shift schedule that requires consistently high productivity levels and operating with a sense of urgency, efficiency, and effectiveness over an extended period.
• You must be able to commit to a consistent set of scheduled days, including holidays that land on your scheduled days (farm operation is 24/7, 365 days a year), lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, and be at least 18 years old.

Benefits:

• You will be eligible for a pay increase every 1040 hours or six (6) months. 
• You will earn vacation days. 
• Weekend shifts include an extra $1 per hour. 
• You will receive an Area 2 Farms harvest weekly.
