Job Description

This position will be responsible for directly overseeing installation and repairs of the Wastewater Systems and equipment as well as audit and improve operations at locations. This position will also be required to learn how to design and suggest system layouts based on plant needs. This position will handle all personnel and material logistics necessary to complete the project. Personal “hands-on” labor will be required to assist and expedite mechanical and electrical repairs. The Project Tech will report directly to the Systems Engineering Director as well as the Environmental System Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively schedule and utilize inside/outside contractors to complete project assigned.
• Coordinate resources based on UniFirst Corporation priorities.
• Identify deficient equipment both mechanical and electrical. Order parts needed for repairs and with the help of the location staff make needed repairs
• Communicate with location on what repairs are needed and how to prevent failures in the system.
• Provide accurate prints of system layout, P&ID and electrical changes made when repairing system.
• Reduce downtime by making sure all necessary parts are on hand.
• Provide critical decision making to resolve design and installation conflicts.
• Provide Hands On Mechanical/Electrical work and Supervision to UniFirst and contractor personnel during installation of wastewater systems.
• Continual Improvement-System design and installation

Requirements:

• Hold Mechanical/Technical degree, certification or equal “On the Job” experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience in the Industrial Environmental Field.
• Experience with MS Office, Word,Excel, MS Project.
• Experience or ability to learn AutoCAD to develop detailed mechanical layouts/ diagrams for WW Facilty layouts to include equipment placement, piping and electrical layouts.
• Experience with Electrical systems to include 460V, 240/208V, 120V as well as 24VDC
• Experience with mechanical systems, including Pumps, Mixers and Piping systems.
• Candidate must be willing to travel up to 70%, directly managing project installation.
• Work a 10 day ON-4 day OFF schedule when necessary to manage project installation.
• Must be a team player. He/She will be a part of an overall process where interaction with other employees is essential. The candidate must enjoy having a fluid interchange of ideas and recommendations from both Engineering and Plant Management
• Maintain safe working environment during installation for both Contractors and Plant Employees.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually. This range reflects various factors, including but not limited to the applicant's skills, qualifications, and previous work experience. Additionally, geographic differentials may apply based on the location where the position is ultimately filled, which could affect the final compensation.
