Requirements of position

EDUCATION

Required

High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

DOL certificate in applicable trade

5 years Verifiable journey level experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Required

Valid State elevator mechanic license upon date of hire

Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by state upon date of hire

SKILLS

Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills

Ability to learn how to safely use relevant hand and power tools associated with trade. Equipment utilized: Use of computers, meters, stationary equipment and basic hand tools and

specialized equipment.

Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.

Ability to use a computer.

May be required to obtain and maintain a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) license.

May be required to acquire and maintain OSHA required certifications.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in installation, maintenance, and repair of elevator systems and equipment.

Ability to perform troubleshooting, installation, and inspection.

Ability to work with wide variety of cultures and backgrounds.

Responsibilities of position

This role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position as well as the ability to move about the workplace for long durations. It requires effective communication, the ability to operate machinery, tools, and controls. This role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds. The role requires the ability to ascend/descend ladders/stairs, and to position one's self in low level positions, detect a variety of chemicals and/or gases. The role requires the ability to ascend to rooftops and move in tight spaces to perform and

complete inspections. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
