Job Description:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. This role requires hands-on technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Assembly:

  • Assist in the installation and assembly of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment, machinery, or systems.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, wiring, sensors, or control panels.

Testing and Calibration:

  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes) to measure performance and identify issues.
  • Calibrate equipment to meet operational standards.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., OSHA, NEC).
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with supervisors and other technicians to complete projects.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate degree or certification in Mechanical/Electrical Technology or a related field (preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in a mechanical or electrical technician role (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with tools, equipment, and systems relevant to the job.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, hand tools, power tools.)
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, wiring, and control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
