*COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSE (CDL) OR CHAUFFEUR'S LICENSE REQUIRED*

Basic Purpose

Responsible for coordination of transportation schedule independently with other driver but under the supervision of the Front Desk Manager. Responsible for chauffeuring the facility bus, car and van to scheduled doctor appointments, shopping, and outings.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Accepts and completes tasks, assignments and projects given by the Front Desk Supervisor and/or department manager.
2. Takes responsibility for the upkeep of the facility vehicles to be serviced, washed, and cleaned per minimum routine maintenance schedule.
3. Knows the New Orleans area and outlying areas of the city well.
4. Acts as chauffeur to the residents for group travel in the bus, small groups or individual travel in the car.
5. Demonstrates safe driving skills.
6. Independently keeps tracks of schedules and appointments and is able to coordinate times and scheduling for efficient time and transportation.
7. Is able to work a flexible time schedule and be available to drive during the evening hours and on weekends.
8. Performs other non-driving tasks to assist in the needs here at Lambeth House.
9. Mandatory on the Evacuation Team.
10. When transporting residents in the car, must carefully open doors, assist with securing seat belts and observe all safety measures. Seat belts are required in the front and Back seat of the car.
11. When driving the bus, must assist residents up the bus, stairs or use the lift.
12. Must help assure that all seat belts are fastened before driving.
13. Residents who use the lift and who can be transferred to seats are to be helped, and those staying in wheelchairs are to be strapped in according to regulations.
14. All seat belts are to be straightened and placed on seats after an outing to be ready for the next passengers.
15. Music is prohibited when transporting a resident, unless requested by
the resident.
16. Must be available by cell phone at all times while on duty.
17. Avoid undesirable areas when possible.
18. Drivers are not to perform personal errands in the company vehicles.
19. Follows all defined safety codes while performing all duties.
20. Observe and reports problems to the Front Desk Supervisor.
21. Attends various in-service annually.
22. Confirm appointments with residents when 24hrs in advance.
23. Helps with valet if not driving on outings.
24. Helps deliver mail and packages.
