Director of Stewardship and Communications, GUMC Advancement

Job Overview

As a member of the Georgetown University Medical Centers Advancement team, the Director of Stewardship and Communications builds a culture of gratitude and ensures donors are appreciated, informed, and engaged. The Director manages stewardship initiatives for the Medical Centers most significant donors, designs and implements acknowledgments, stewardship, and engagement activities, and supports visits and tailored communications with key leadership. The Director also serves as the GUMC liaison who secures data and content from academic units to prepare financial and impact reports for donors on a portfolio of endowed and currentuse funds.

Responsibilities

The Director will:

  • Design and implement stewardship initiatives that express gratitude and demonstrate impact.
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to ensure donors receive meaningful and timely acknowledgments.
  • Support the planning and execution of visits and tailored communications with key leadership, including the Executive Vice President and Vice President for Advancement.
  • Coordinate with administrators, students, finance personnel, and colleagues across the campus to secure data and content for donor reports.
  • Oversee the gift acknowledgment process and manage the creation of tailored acknowledgment communications from senior leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 57 years of professional experience, preferably in higher education or a nonprofit environment.
  • Superior organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and proven experience working independently.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Diplomatic skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with philanthropic donors.
  • Familiarity with fundraising databases or the SalesForce platform.
  • Knowledge of Georgetown University.

The position is designated as Hybrid .

Pay Range

$66,783.00 $126,720.23
