Purpose of this positionThe purpose of this position is to complete duties assigned to provide accurate, timely food service to meet residents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements. To maintain dietary equipment in a safe, sanitary manner.QualificationsMust have current license. (if applicable)License must be free of any encumbrances. (if applicable)Must not have any disqualifying findings barring employment as stated by State or Federal regulationsDelegation of authorityFollow menus and prepare food and beveragesOrganize duties to complete tray service in a timely mannerAssure kitchen equipment and surfaces are clean and sanitized according to dietary proceduresStore food in compliance with dietary proceduresPrimary Functions and ResponsibilitiesFollow oral and written directionsSet up trays and food service carts accurately and timelyServe and bus traysPour and cover beveragesAssist in preparing, covering and labeling foodClean work areaAssist in the proper care, use and cleaning of kitchen equipmentAttend in-service training programs for Food Service employeesObserve infection control procedures related to the Dietary DepartmentFollow facility safety programCome to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctualityAccept assigned duties in a cooperative mannerAssume accountability for data contained in the employees' handbookPerform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisorPerform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional mannerObserve infection control proceduresFollow Residents' Rights policies at all timesObserve all facility policies and proceduresAssume Quality Assurance duties as assignedCome to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearanceCome to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctualityConsistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providersAgree not to disclose assigned user I.D. code and password for accessing resident/facility information and promptly report any suspected or known unauthorized access, use, or disclosure of such informationServe food in accordance with established portion control proceduresAssist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and proceduresClean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etcSweep and mop floors as directedCarry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etcAssist cook in preparing mealsDistribute and collect menus as necessaryMake only authorized food substitutionsAssist in food preparation for special meals, for parties, etc
