POSITION TITLE: Design Intern - Soft & Tailored Wovens (Fall)
DEPARTMENT: Design
LOCATION: New York, NY
JOB TYPE: Internship, Full-Time (4 days a week)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Fall Design Intern will engage in a variety of creative, organizational and administrative duties and tasks to provide day-to-day operational support for our Soft and Tailored Wovens Design team.
ROLE PRIORITIES: •Provide design-related support for samples, sketches, research and tech packs
•Assist in preparation for meetings including compiling and organizing materials
•Assist designers by doing print placement, cad work and supplementary sketches
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: •Assemble inspiration boards, research packets and organize factory mocks
•Coordinate with Design team on the daily needs for sketching, color and print cads
•Work with Design team to prepare for meetings including pulling and organizing fabrics, prints and samples
GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: •Organize and scan mocks
•Prepare research, sketches and cads for meetings
•Other administrative tasks as needed
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: •Experience in fashion; design, product development or marketing
•Highly organized; excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritize responsibilities, work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
•An excellent communicator; strong written, verbal and listening skills. Can understand and follow directions.
•Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, collaborative style
•A resourceful self-starter who can work independently
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
•Proficient in Adobe Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop required)
Salary: $16.00/hour
