About the Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF):
The Department of Local Government Finance is responsible for ensuring property tax assessment and local government budgeting are carried out in accordance with Indiana law. The Department is charged with publishing property tax assessment rules and annually reviewing and approving the tax rates and levies of every political subdivision in the state, including all counties, cities, towns, townships, school corporations, libraries, and other entities with tax levy authority.
Role Overview :
The DLGF Controller reports to the Chief of Staff and is responsible for maintaining the agency’s budget, and overseeing the agency’s fiscal health. The Controller also plays a vital role within the Agency’s legislative team in analyzing potential impacts to the Agency of proposed legislation, as well as serving as an advisor to the leadership team.
Salary Statement :
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $75,010.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
