Job Description
Job Summary:
- Location: Upper Marlboro, MD
- Need a Controller with construction industry experience
- Must have worked for a union organization
- Oversee all accounting functions
- Manage union and nonunion payrolls, and bonus payouts
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Review and submit quarterly tax returns
- Initiate and renew state license registrations
- Oversee General Ledger entries
- Monitor accounts receivable
- Manage vendor payments
- Coordinate monthly close process
- Facilitate completion of audits
- Oversee training and performance of direct reports
- Manage payroll processing and reports
- Facilitate creation of forecasts and report to management
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant financial experience, including supervisory roles
- College diploma or bachelor's degree in a related field
- Background in construction or project-based accounting
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and Sage
- CPA certification preferred but not required with construction industry experience.
