PTS Refrigeration Services, has an immediate opening for an experienced Supermarket Refrigeration Technician in the Metro Detroit area. PTS Refrigeration Services is a commercial HVAC and refrigeration contractor providing 24/7 services in Michigan and Ohio, primarily for grocery stores and supermarkets. We are actively searching for qualified, experienced technicians that can effectively diagnose and repair refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Commercial HVAC and refrigeration service primarily in supermarkets and grocery stores
• Diagnose, repair, troubleshoot, install, and service of HVAC and refrigeration equipment and systems including but not limited to: walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in coolers, reach-in freezers, self-contained cases, coffin cases, deli cases, meat cases, produce cases, single condensing units, RTU's, tandem units, compressors, small compressor racks, large compressor rack systems, CO2 direct expansion racks, glycol racks, chillers, and large-scale humidification units
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Perform preventative maintenance of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Daily record-keeping of all HVAC and refrigeration maintenance and repairs

Required Work Experience, Skills & Education

• High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience as a Supermarket Refrigeration Technician
• Understanding of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration concepts and principles
• Understanding of energy managements systems (EMS) including but not limited to: Emerson E2, Danfoss, Novar, Micro Thermal and RDM
• Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
• Ability to be on rotating on-call schedule including work after hours, weekends and holidays
• Valid driver's license
