Job Description: Position: Cobol Programmer Duration: 6+ months Client: Direct Client Job Responsibilities: Develops and tests COBOL programs based on design specifications. Conducts appropriate unit testing of programs. Supports System, Integration, and User Acceptance testing. Provides designs and design support on programs to be developed. Other production support as required. Required Skills: Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline; or at least three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field. General Experience: At least eight (8) years of programming experience in software development or maintenance. Specialized Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in IT systems analysis and programming. At least ten (10) years of COBOL development experience. Desired Skills: Education: A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline. General Experience: At least one (1) year of programming experience at an academic institution. Specialized Experience: At least five (5) years of experience working in a higher education setting supporting administrative offices such as Admissions, Registrars, Financial Aid, Accounting, and/or Business Office.
